Surviving & Thriving in Tough Economic Times Workshop January 24 Henderson Convention Center Arts Consultant Kendall Hardin conducted a workshop designed for arts-related organizations to meet the challenges of a tough economy. The City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency and the Cultural Arts & Tourism Department hosted Ms. Hardin for the six-hour workshop. Local galleries and other arts organizations were invited to attend at no charge. Ms. Hardin, a nationally renowned consultant on arts related issues, shared her extensive experience and insights regarding strategies for success despite the current economic downturn. The major components of the workshop were an overview and explanation of arts businesses today, sharing examples of innovative programming models from other similar communities, and moving forward through planning, evaluation and execution of options. The workshop is the second in a series of informative consultancies that are being made available by the City in an effort to assist the growth and sustainability of local arts businesses in the historic Water Street District. |
