Upcoming Art Gallery Exhibits

JANE MARQUEZ
"My Southwest Land-Escapes"

August 20-September 14
Reception: August 22, 7-8pm
Jane chooses to paint in either acrylic or pastel because of the freedom she feels that they give her pieces, to evolve, as she paints them. Her fascination with the color of light and shadow, and how these fall across her subject, is evident in her art.

JAN SCHAEFFER
"My Art, a Personal View"

September 24-October 19
Reception: September 26, 7-8pm
After years of painting in oil, Jan discovered the frustrating joy of watercolor. She paints as often as possible, and is always looking at the world with 'painter eyes' to capture new and innovative subjects. Drawn to patterns of light and dark, shapes and values; no creation is ever boring.

RHETT MURRAY
"Myths, Legend & Prophecies"

October 29-November 23
Reception: October 31, 7-8pm
Rhett is inspired to create something that is eternal. Wanting the viewer to experience something uplifting and worthwhile, or tormenting and dreadful; his art encourages the viewer to be moved and impressed by this communication from within.

LEONA WHITNEY
"Memories"
December 3- 28
Reception: December 5, 7-8pm
Life can begin at 70, when Leona started painting. "Oh how I love it!" Some pieces reflect her life in the Midwest and others just came "along the way" over her 86 years. Let Leona share her paintings with you.

WAYNE FABIANO
"Who can call fire from above?"

January 7-February 1, 2008
Reception: January 9, 7-8pm
How I became an Artist: By accident, as a child I was fascinated by the carpenter pencil my father used because it was flat. From this event I began to draw and later studied art at Rutger's University where I got my degree in Fine Arts.

JOE FIRM
"Water Media"

February 11-March 14, 2008
Reception: February 13, 7-8pm
Watercolors have provided Jo with the tools to share with others the scenes, people and concerns that intrigue her. She continually strives to add emotional elements to her paintings in the hope that viewers can experience them with her.

STEVEN KILGOUR

March 24-April 25, 2008
Reception: March 26, 7-8pm

WILLIAM HULL
"The Sea, Ship and Shoreline"

May 5-June 6, 2008
Reception: May 7, 7-8pm
Marine subjects are Bill's main interest, including shore lines, boat yards, fishing boats and equipment. Clipper ships are of particular interest. The objective of his art is to create a work that provides visual pleasure to the viewer.
