For the first-time, Sugar Ray, the multi-platinum rock band, will perform at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, Friday, April 29 at 8 p.m. Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased at HendersonLive.com.
“Sugar Ray is sure to be a crowd pleaser,” said Andrea Primo, Director of the Cultural Arts & Tourism Department. “Their fun and catchy rock anthems, summer songs and sweet ballads have stood the test of time, entertaining generations for years.”
Sugar Ray became popular with infectious summer singles of the late ‘90s that crossed several genres of music including pop, funk, hip-hop and reggae. Led by the charismatic front man, current host of Don’t Forget the Lyrics and contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, Mark McGrath, Sugar Ray burst onto the music scene in 1997 with the popular summer anthem, “Fly”. The monster hit was featured on the double-platinum album Floored and appeared at #1 on the Billboard’s Hot 100 List.
Following this success, the fun-loving group from Southern California released 14:59, which went triple-platinum with smash singles “Every Morning”, “Someday” and “Falls Apart”. In 2001, Sugar Ray released their self-titled album featuring “When It’s Over”. The song garnered the band’s first-ever Top 10 album.
