Over 10,000 people crowded the streets of downtown Henderson for the 42nd annual “Southern Nevada Sons of Erin” St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival on Saturday, March 15.
The Scintas and 11-year-old singing prodigy Ellie Smith led the parade as this year’s grand marshals. More than 120 parade units, including marching bands, bagpipes, dancers and special interest groups marched down Water Street in festive green.
This year’s signature event included five days of holiday celebrations at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street, beginning Thursday, March 13 and concluding on Monday, March 17. Families enjoyed a carnival with midway games, rides, delicious food and hours of live entertainment by Frankie Moreno, Toxic Audio, Phil Flowers and other tribute bands and authentic Irish dance groups.
A portion of the proceeds from the parade and festival will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, The Shriners, Time & History and the Henderson Elementary D.A.R.E. Program.
