ORIGINAL MEMBER OF THE MONKEES TO PLAY AT ARTBEAT PRESENTED BY TARGET

Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues performs soulful blues music, The Monkees hits & classic tunes by blues legends

Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues, a traditional blues band fronted by an original member of The Monkees, will perform at the City of Henderson’s signature cultural arts series, ArtBeat presented by Target, Friday, April 15 at 8 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District. Pre-show activities begin at 5 p.m. Admission is complimentary.

Peter Tork burst onto the music scene in the ‘60s with the made-for-television phenomenon, The Monkees. As the American version of the Beatles, the rock/pop band produced four chart-topping albums and had many international hits including “I’m a Believer”, “Last Train to Clarksville”, “Daydream Believer” and “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone”. In addition, The Monkees had a popular television show for two years and a series of successful concert tours in the U.S. and across the globe.

After The Monkees, Tork began to focus on his solo career, performing with his own bands, as well as writing and recording original music. He has made several guests appearances on a variety of television shows including Boy Meets World, Wings and King of Queens.

Currently, Tork performs with his band, Shoe Suede Blues. The band plays original blues music, as well as hit songs by The Monkees and covers of classic blues tunes by such legends as Muddy Waters.
