Sugar Ray to perform hits like “Fly”, “Someday” and “Every Morning”, April 29
Mark McGrath, lead singer of Sugar Ray, who is scheduled to perform along with the band at the Henderson Pavilion on Friday, April 29 at 8 p.m., can currently be seen on NBC’s popular reality show, The Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday nights. The television star/musician has survived the boardroom for the past four weeks and has avoided hearing those dreaded words made famous by Donald Trump, “You’re Fired”.
McGrath has proven himself a worthy contestant during the four aired episodes. As part of Team Backbone, he is working alongside his male celebrity teammates, Gary Busey, José Conseco, Richard Hatch, Lil Jon, Meat Loaf and John Rich. The only eliminated player from his group is David Cassidy. The female contestants consisting of Hope Dworacyk, La Toya Jackson, Star Jones, NeNe Leakes and Marlee Matlin have suffered the loss of three players - Lisa Rinna, Niki Taylor, and most recently, Dionne Warwick.
McGrath is on a mission, along with the other celebrity candidates, to win the business-related tasks assigned every week by Mr. Trump, in an effort to raise money and awareness for his charity, Save the Music Foundation, an organization that helps provide funding for music programs in schools. He is striving to follow in the footsteps of Piers Morgan, Joan Rivers and Bret Michaels and become “The Celebrity Apprentice”.
In addition to his participation on the NBC show, The Celebrity Apprentice, McGrath’s charisma and natural talent earned him appearances on other television shows including the role of correspondent for Extra, host of Don’t Forget the Lyrics and a contestant on VH1’s Rock & Roll Jeopardy!, where he was crowned champion.
While he enjoys a television career, his passion for music thrives as part of the ‘90s rock band, Sugar Ray. The group, which also consists of guitarist Rodney Sheppard, bassist Murphy Karges and drummer Stan Frazier, became popular with infectious summer singles like “Fly”, “Every Morning”, “Someday”, “Falls Apart” and “When It’s Over”.
