via text message

You be the judge! The City of Henderson will launch its first-ever text message voting campaign during the Henderson Heritage Parade, Saturday, April 17, in the Water Street District, 200 S. Water Street. Spectators will now have the opportunity to vote for their favorite parade entry, assisting in the designation of a new People’s Choice Award winner. The recipient will receive $500 in prize money.

To vote for a favorite parade participant, spectators must text HLIVE, followed by the parade entry number, to 269411. Voting lines will be open from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.  City of Henderson employees and political entries are ineligible to win. Standard text messaging and data rates apply.

The People Choice Award winner will be announced at 12:30 p.m. during the Awards Ceremony at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street. The winner does not need to be present to receive the award.

The Henderson Heritage Parade & Festival is a celebration of the city’s 57-year history, rich traditions and community spirit. In addition to the parade, the event includes a breakfast, sponsored by Land Rover, with Mayor Andy Hafen and members of City Council, as well as a festival featuring delicious world cuisine, craft and cooking demonstrations, hours of live entertainment and international games, courtesy of the International Food & Folklife Association. Car enthusiasts will also have a chance to browse a variety of vintage vehicles at the classic car show. Admission and parking is FREE.
