Sunset Station Sales Manager, Mai Hogan honored for tourism efforts
The City of Henderson recognizes Mai Hogan, Sales Manager for Sunset Station Hotel & Casino, with the first Destination Champion Award during this year’s National Tourism Week, May 9-17. Hogan will be honored at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m., located at Henderson City Hall, 240 South Water Street. The public is invited to attend.
The Department of Cultural Arts & Tourism created the Destination Champion Award to encourage excellence in Henderson’s hospitality industry. The purpose of the award is to honor hotel sales representatives that have enhanced awareness of the city, contribute and support the community, and promote Henderson as a first-class destination for visitors. Individual tourism partners will be acknowledged annually during National Tourism Week.
“Mai was chosen as the first recipient of this award for her outstanding contributions,” said Andrea Primo, Director of the Cultural Arts & Tourism Department. “Her leadership, knowledge and support of the tourism industry continues to raise awareness of Henderson as the ideal meetings destination and leisurely getaway.”
As a dedicated advocate for tourism, Hogan has brought several high-profile groups to Henderson, such as National Alliance for Youth Sports, Center for Public Safety Excellence and Law Enforcement Training Associates, while maintaining good rapport with neighboring hotels allowing for cross referrals. She actively takes interest and participates at travel/trade shows, promoting awareness of Sunset Station Hotel & Casino and the City of Henderson. Hogan excels providing outstanding customer service and is always willing to try new selling tactics to encourage return visitors and attract future tourists to Henderson.
