CITY OF HENDERSON PRESENTS ANNUAL DESTINATION CHAMPION AWARD

Green Valley Ranch National Sales Manager, Kay Brown honored for tourism efforts

The City of Henderson Department of Cultural Arts & Tourism recognizes Kay Brown, National Sales Manager for Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino, with the annual Destination Champion Award during this year’s National Tourism Week, May 8-16. Brown will be honored at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 15 at 7 p.m., located at Henderson City Hall, 240 South Water Street. The public is invited to attend.

The Department of Cultural Arts & Tourism created the Destination Champion Award to encourage excellence in Henderson’s hospitality industry. The purpose of the award is to honor hotel sales representatives that have enhanced awareness of the city, contribute and support the community, and promote Henderson as a first-class destination for visitors. Individual tourism partners are acknowledged annually during National Tourism Week.

“We are proud to honor Kay as the second recipient of this award for her outstanding contributions,” said Andrea Primo, Director of the Cultural Arts & Tourism Department. “Her dedication to the meetings market and travel industry is evident through the businesses and conventions she brings to Green Valley Ranch and Henderson.”

Kay has worked in the sales department at Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino for the past five years and is responsible for bringing several high-profile groups to Henderson. During the Mountain West Conference basketball tournament, she made arrangements for housing the men’s and women’s basketball teams for Brigham Young University and San Diego State University. Over the years, Kay has established a large client base, with more than half of them being return customers. One such client is James Malinchak Seminars, who chooses Green Valley Ranch to host a minimum of 10 seminars yearly.

Additionally, Kay possesses outstanding customer service skills, proven through the high ratings she receives from clients. One of her many accomplishments as a sales manager is being awarded the President’s Club award by Station Casinos for the past two years for exceeding sales goals by 150 percent.
