Up to $15,000 in cash prizes awarded to participants over four days
Participant registration is now open for this year’s Super Run Classic Car Show, scheduled for Thursday, September 22 – Sunday, September 25 in the historic Water Street District. The event is open to all years, makes and models of classic vehicles with space limited to 1,000 cars. Early registration is $50 until Thursday, September 15.
As part of Super Run, entrants will have the chance to win up to $15,000 in cash prizes and more than 250 awards from People’s Choice to Outstanding Engine and Best of Show. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to show off their street machines in a number of adrenaline-powered competitions including slow drags, roaring engines and burn-out contests.
“I look forward to attending this event every year,” said Mark Calhoun, Henderson City Manager. “It’s wonderful to see the camaraderie between the participants and community as they share a common passion for classic cars.”
The car show will also feature special concerts by popular oldies and country music groups. On Friday, September 23, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Dennis Edwards, will bring the sounds of Motown to Henderson with his group, The Temptations Review. Fans will stroll down memory lane with famous songs like “Papa Was A Rolling Stone,” “Can’t Get Next To You” and “Cloud Nine.” The following night, Saturday, September 24, will feature hours of boot scootin’ tunes and line dancing enthusiasm by a country artist to be announced.
Super Run has been a partnership between the City of Henderson and Las Vegas Cruisin’ Association since its establishment in 1999. For the past 12 years, it has evolved from a home-grown affair of 200 cars to one of the city’s largest premier special events. Now, Super Run is Southern Nevada’s largest car show, attracting over 100,000 people to experience the nostalgic extravaganza.
