Final appearance with band to be The Symphonic Rock Show at Henderson Pavilion
It’s an end of an era for Yellow Brick Road fans. After 14 years fronting the classic rock band, lead vocalist Brody Dolyniuk announced his final performance will be The Symphonic Rock Show, Saturday, June 18 at 8 p.m. at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway. He’s leaving Yellow Brick Road to pursue other musical opportunities.
“I’ve had a great time with the band,” said Dolyniuk. “I’m looking forward to a new journey and want to thank everyone for their support.”
With his departure, Dolyniuk also announced his replacement. A dear friend, fellow musician and regular stand-in for the group, Kelly Christian, will assume the role of lead singer, joining the remaining band members this summer. The new ensemble will continue to play as the established moniker, Yellow Brick Road, performing weekly in showrooms across the valley.
Founded by Dolyniuk in 1997, Yellow Brick Road was originally an Elton John tribute band. The group launched onto the Las Vegas entertainment scene with a full show dedicated to the tunes from the music icon’s platinum-selling albums. Not long after, Yellow Brick Road began incorporating other classic rock songs from the ‘70s and ‘80s to help fill their sets at such local venues as Green Valley Ranch and Boulder Station.
The band gained notoriety for its ability to master an anthology of rock anthems, #1 hits and monster ballads from such influential and legendary groups as Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd and Aerosmith. In addition, Dolyniuk’s on-stage charisma and incredible talent to mimic the vocal range of Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant and Steven Tyler are what drew audiences to their shows.
Over the years, Yellow Brick Road became a fan favorite amongst locals and visitors. With its large, loyal following, the group was crowned a three-time winner of the Las Vegas Review Journal’s Best of Las Vegas Award and have become one of the most successful classic rock tribute acts in the valley.
Devoted fans will have a chance to say farewell to the band’s founder and leader. Next month, Dolyniuk will perform with Yellow Brick Road one last time at The Symphonic Rock Show. The group will be joined on-stage by 30 of Las Vegas’ finest musicians, creating an evening of symphonic rock, complete with a list of songs including “Baba O’Reilly” by The Who, Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” Rush’s “Tom Sawyer,” among others. The music will be synchronized to a video and state-of-the-art laser light show, delivering the ultimate rock concert experience.
“This will be a memorable night, not only for me, but for the fans of Yellow Brick Road,” said Dolyniuk. “We can assure our final performance together will be an unforgettable one.”
