Blues, roots and soul singer/songwriter Michele Lundeen will perform an intimate concert at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street, on Friday, September 5 at 8 p.m. Admission and parking is FREE.
Nicknamed “The Queen of Steam,” Lundeen is a powerful, sultry singer who is often compared to Janis Joplin and Bonnie Raitt. She incorporates several genres of music including rock & roll, swing, roadhouse blues and funky soul and combines it with a talented band, stirring vocals and a commanding stage presence that results in an electrifying performance.
San Diego-based Lundeen has rocked the California and Nevada circuit for over 15 years. She has shared the stage with national acts such as blues guitarist John Lee Hooker and blues/rock & roll musician Elvin Bishop, most known for his hit “Fooled Around and Fell In Love.”
Along with her band, Blues Streak, Lundeen has accumulated several honors including “Best Blues” nomination for the San Diego Music Awards in 2000 and 2001; San Diego Blues Challenge winners in 2000; and performed the Blue’s Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn. in 2001. She released her debut album entitled Song Inside Me in 2004 which features nine original songs filled with poignant lyrics and catchy arrangements.
