THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE! FALL ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE RELEASED

 
The City of Henderson Cultural Arts & Tourism Department will conclude its 2008 Thursday Night Live! season with a variety of free performances each Thursday in September and October at 8 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street. Several family friendly performances have been scheduled for the upcoming months and feature a multitude of genres from pop, rock, jazz and a special theatre performance.
 
The FREE performances are part of the City of Henderson Thursday Night Live! cultural art series, which showcases local and emerging talent in an informal setting that is accessible to people of all ages. 
 
The Thursday Night Live! schedule of entertainment includes:
 
September 4 – BluSoul with Ellis Rice
Be captivated by the mellow, bluesy sounds of this soulful band of seasoned performers featuring blues and jazz standards.
 
September 18 – Richard Elloyan
Country singer/songwriter Richard Elloyan presents melodies and cowboy poetry about the modern West. 
 
September 25 – The Downstrokes
The Downstrokes are a rock, blues and funk band that presents infectious high energy rhythms.
 
October 2 – The Henderson International School  
Theatre students put a new, fun twist to Shakespeare’s plays just in time for the city’s Shakespeare in the Park signature event. 
 
October 16 – UNLV Community Concert Band
The UNLV Community Concert Band is comprised of local musicians sharing an array of popular show tunes and other light classics. 
 
October 23 – Paris Red
Paris Red features a lead female singer from Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity who exhibits incredible vocals to rock, R&B and pop ballad classics.  
 
All Thursday Night Live! performances take place in the amphitheatre which features ample seating. Blankets and personal coolers are welcome, but glass containers are prohibited.
