CITY OF HENDERSON ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER LINEUP FOR ARTBEAT PRESENTED BY TARGET

 
Cultural arts series features live performances and family-friendly activities
 
ArtBeat presented by Target, a cultural arts series sponsored by the City of Henderson and Target, returns in September with a lineup that will appeal to all audiences. The featured performing acts include country music entertainer, Gary Morris; Hawaii’s premier musician and hula dancer, Keola & Moana Beamer; and blues master, W.C. Clark. All three shows will take place at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District with performances beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is complimentary.
 
Gary Morris 
September 3 at 8 p.m.
Henderson Events Plaza
Award-winning country music singer, Gary Morris, performs hits like "Wind Beneath My Wings," "Baby Bye Bye" and "100% Chance Of Rain”. Morris has performed on the historic stage of the Grand Ole Opry, White House and for the Queen of England. He also performed on Broadway in Les Miserables as the heroic lead character, “Jean Valjean”. Morris sang a masterful rendition of the ballad, “With One More Look At You”, for the comeback performance of Olympic gold medalist figure skater, Scott Hamilton, after his battle with cancer, which was televised on CBS.
 
Keola & Moana Beamer
September 10 at 8 p.m.
Henderson Events Plaza  
Keola & Moana Beamer are Hawaii’s first couple of traditional music and dance, touring the world to present their unique vision of island’s cultural arts. The husband and wife duo combine the mellow and melodic slack key guitar sound with colorful lyrics and expressive hula dancing.
 
W.C. Clark
September 17 at 8 p.m.
Henderson Events Plaza
Known as the “Godfather of Austin Blues”, Clark presents a powerful show that weds foot-stomping Texas roadhouse blues with legendary and soulful vocals. For over 40 years, Clark has been performing his music for the world. He was a mentor for blues stars, Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, as well as Angela Strehli and Lou Ann Barton. Clark has also shared the stage with such legendary artists as James Brown and B.B. King.
