As one of the largest Hawaiian celebrations in Southern Nevada, the 18th annual Prince Jonah Kuhio Ho’olaule’a Pacific Islands Festival will feature a mixture of award-winning musical performances by local and national acts including The Brothers Kaloku & Keawe, Mikioi, Ho’omanawanui and Vaihi. The family-friendly event will be held on September 13-14 at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and parking is free.
The Brothers Kaloku & Keawe
Originally hailing from the Hawaiian Islands, The Brothers Kaloku & Keawe are artistically inspirational by showcasing their unique style and charisma with entertaining songs about their world travels and experiences.
Mikioi
Mikioi is a talented female duo with a musical repertoire that includes contemporary, Hawaiian, country, R&B and oldies.
Ho’omanawanui
Vaihi
Comprised of four local Hawaiian country boys, Vaihi has been on a voyage singing and entertaining for over 12 years and has been nominated for several Hawaiian Music Awards. The group is committed to creating innovative and contemporary Hawaiian music while giving a high-energy and crowd-pleasing performance.
The two-day festival will introduce the community to the Pacific Islands traditions, cuisine and live entertainment including over 100 exotic food and craft vendors, selection of unique culinary demonstrations, dance groups and music acts.
The City of Henderson Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism is dedicated to creating and promoting innovative events, entertainment, programming and venues that celebrate diverse cultural arts, enhance tourism, involve and serve the community and enrich the economic and cultural fabric of Henderson.
The Henderson Pavilion, Henderson Convention Center and Henderson Events Plaza are all managed by the Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism.
