Over 20,000 expected to attend Best In The Desert Racing’s season finale & Off-Road Fan Expo

The City of Henderson will host the 10th annual TransWest Ford Henderson 250 off-road race, the final race of the season for the Best in The Desert Racing series, Saturday, December 3, featuring three races throughout the day. The green flag will drop at approximately 6:15 a.m. for motorcycles, quads and UTVs, as well as 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for cars and trucks, just 35 minutes south of Henderson, off Interstate 15, exit 12 in Jean, Nevada. Spectator admission is complimentary.

This year’s race is expected to attract over 20,000 people from across the nation, including California, Washington, Arizona, Tennessee, Illinois and Texas. Over the years, the TransWest Ford Henderson 250, which has been also known as the Henderson’s Terrible & Henderson’s Fabtech Desert Races, has attracted over 100,000 spectators, 1,000 race participants, and has filtered over $40 million into the local economy in under a decade.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate this huge milestone,” said Mark Calhoun, Henderson City Manager. “With the ever-increasing support by fans of all ages, high caliber of racers competing, challenging race course and other fun activities associated with the off-road race, the TransWest Ford Henderson 250 has quickly become the premier motor sporting event in Henderson.”

This winter, over 150 race teams, representing 30 professional and sportsman classes, will compete in the TransWest Ford Henderson 250, maneuvering through a challenging three-lap, 80-mile course, in hopes of capturing the series championship. Fans will have a chance to catch all the action, including the checkered flag excitement, at two main spectator areas, located near the start/finish line, located 35 minutes south of Henderson, in Jean, Nevada.

Prior to Saturday’s race, Henderson will host an Off-Road Fan Expo, Friday, December 2 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the Water Street District, from Basic Road to Atlantic Avenue. The ultimate race experience, the show will feature a variety of full-throttle festivities including the TransWest Ford Henderson 250 Tech & Contingency. A favorite amongst off-road enthusiasts, Tech & Contingency will allow fans access to watch official race inspections, as well as see pit crews working on their team’s truck, car, motorcycle or UTV. In addition, Friday’s event will also include race vehicles on display, driver meet & greets, automotive & manufacturer vendor village and hours of musical entertainment. Admission is complimentary.
