The Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Andy Hafen and the City of Henderson are hosting the kick off to the national 2010 Fireball Run Adventurally & its Race to Recover America’s Missing Children on Saturday, Sept. 25.The annual event has partnered with the KlaasKids Foundation in the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children, which has already aided in the recovery of 32 missing kids in the United States. Each team will rally across the country with one missing child featured on their car and distribute fliers along the entire 3,500 mile, 18-city route to raise awareness. Similar to the popular television show, “The Amazing Race,” the nine-day interactive rally will feature clues to secret destinations and missions. The teams will earn points based on the successful accomplishment of their assigned missions as well as speed on several closed course track events. A winner will be named during a banquet at the end of the race in Galena, Ill.      CAR PARTICIPATION INFORMATIONCalling all classic car owners! It’s that time of year to polish the chrome, shine the tires and tune up your Deuce Coupe, Mustang or GTO. The Las Vegas Cruisin’ Association is accepting applications for the 11th annual Super Run Classic Car Show in Henderson.The event is open to all years, makes and models of classic vehicles including vintage, street and classic cars, as well as hot rods, muscle cars, street rods, competition vehicles and customs. Early registration is $50 before September 15, 2010. Car participants will receive an event T-shirt, commemorative dash plaque, event ball cap, vehicle credential, participation in ALL automotive activities and preferred parking to have their vehicles displayed in the Show & Shine Competition.Participants will have the opportunity to display their classic car or truck for the four-day event, as well as compete in the slow drags, roaring engines and burn-out contests.
