Join us, as we celebrate the sights and sounds of the holiday season at the WinterFest Celebration, December 6-9.  Warm your heart this winter with the Henderson Symphony Orchestra's "Sounds of the Season" performance at the Henderson Convention Center on Thursday, December 6 at 7 p.m.

Classical works will float through the air in this entirely fresh holiday symphonic performance.  The heart-warming repertoire will include an array of classic selections from master composers as well as highlights from the signature holiday classic, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite #1.  Give yourself and your loved ones the gift of a musical evening and join the Henderson Symphony Orchestra for this holiday musical celebration.

On Friday,Henderson's Commemorative Beautification Commission will host a treelighting and awards ceremony.  Our special guest, Santa Claus,will arrive to join the celebration!  There will be plenty of activities for the entire family to enjoy such as buggy rides, musical entertainment, and ice skating on the Plaza.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, join us for the parade, followed by a craft fair and lots of activities and entertainment such as:

  • Ice skating
  • Pony rides
  • Face painting
  • Snow play
  • Food and Specialty vendors

The WinterFest Celebration runs through Sunday, December 9.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6 

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Da Vinci Experience Exhibit featuring 60 working replicas of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions and 11 of his most famous paintings will be on display. *Requires Paid Admission

7 p.m. Henderson Symphony Orchestra and 300 local high school students present the “Sounds of the Season” concert.  

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 

10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Da Vinci Experience Exhibit featuring 60 working replicas of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions and 11 of his most famous paintings will be on display. *Requires Paid Admission

5:30 p.m.  Henderson International School Choir performs holiday classics. 

6 p.m. Mayor James B. Gibson will kick off the WinterFest Celebration with the official tree lighting ceremony.

6:15 p.m. Kevin Janison from Channel 3 and the Commemorative Beautification Commission will recognize the winners of the Holiday House Decorating Contest with a special awards ceremony.

6:30 - 9 p.m. Children of all ages can visit with Santa Claus and enjoy holiday entertainment and ice skating, which will be available free of charge, including use of skates.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 

10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Da Vinci Experience Exhibit featuring 60 working replicas of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions and 11 of his most famous paintings will be on display. *Requires Paid Admission

10 a.m. The whole family will love the wonderful excitement of the first annual Children’s Winterfest Parade on Water Street in downtown Henderson. In conjunction with the city’s support of the Toys for Tots program, the U.S. Marine Corps will be the parade’s Grand Marshal and join hundreds of floats decorated in the theme of “Toys on Parade.”

11 a.m.-  7 p.m. Children of all ages can visit with Santa Claus and enjoy other WinterFest festivities including a spectacular craft show, pony rides, face painting, snow play & CANstruction displays, including a food drive.

6 p.m. Cheer on local children as they perform “A Christmas Carol”.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9 

9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Da Vinci Experience Exhibit featuring 60 working replicas of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions and 11 of his most famous paintings will be on display. *Requires Paid Admission

1 - 4 p.m. Families can enjoy a spectacular craft show, pony rides, face painting, ice skating, snow play & CANstruction displays, including a food drive. Don’t forget to tell Santa Claus your Christmas Wish List!

4 p.m. Cheer on local children as they perform “A Christmas Carol”.

Admission for the WinterFest activities and entertainment are free and open to the public, with the exception of the Da Vinci Experience Exhibit, which requires paid admission.
